THIS IS NOT REAL LIFE

GUYS. YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK.

ok. so we got a call from an unknown number and we answered and this guy was like "are you guys serving in the pontefract area?" and we're like "yeah.." and then he said "are you baptizing Ron?" and we're like "yeah..?" and he's like "I'm Phillip!" and we wre like "PHILLIP?!"

okay, so background story.. phillip is an elder that taught Ron years ago and Ron talks about him ALL the time. Turns out that he found out from Sister Froerer (my old comp who is now in doncaster). the members there told him and now he's flying out ALL THE WAY FROM GERMANY to come to Ron's baptism.

but wait, there's more.

He is going to BAPTIZE RON. AND RON DOESNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT. it's going to be a surprise and i am sooo stoked. coolest baptism ever, right?

Also, Sister Froerer is coming and i am so excited.

Well thats about it, next week we will have a new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Brother Ron Huby. ahhhhhh yay.

Love you all, bye!

May 24th!!!

GUYS RON IS GETTING BAPTIZED AHHHH. May 24th :)

I AM SO EXCITED.

here's what happened:

(keep in mind he knows transfers are May 31st and he thinks i'm leaving)

we went into the lesson and we all knew that baptism was the white elephant in the room, but we kept it cool. He told us about his week and we told him about ours blah blah blah and then BAM. he goes "so the week before you leave." and i said, "the week before i leave what?" and he just says "the week before you leave. that's when we'll do it." only RON HUBY would be casual about baptism, my word. But so we picked a date together and set up an interview and IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING!! this time it's for real because we left it all up to Ron and he actually said he is "delighted" to be baptized. It was such a cool experience and at the end of the lesson he looks at me and says: "did you ever think we'd make it here?" and i was like, "No, Ron, I honestly didn't." haha we joke but I really am SO proud of him and SO lucky to be able to be here while he makes this step towards his loving Heavenly Father.

Also, My comp is from New Zealand and she calls waffle fries: net chips. and rice crispies: rice bubbles. and sometimes her accent is so thick that when she tells me things i have to ask her to spell it out hahah. and then after we always say "language barrier". she is SO funny. when we're doing 'dodgy-late-night-street-contacting' and she gets bored, she'll just pretend she's hosting a talk show and if i say anything, she'll just apologize at how daft her coworker is haha it cracks me up.

SUCH A GOOD WEEK. I hope you all enjoyed it too :) Love you!

Happy Mum's Day

Interesting Fact: When you skype your family the entire week slips your mind and I have no idea what happened this week. I think it was one of the hardest weeks of my mission but it ended really good so now I don't remember what was so hard about it.

One of the things that I'll never forget is when i was sitting on the stand in sacrament meeting because I was going to give a talk and I look over at Roy and Peter (my 2 best buds) and they were making faces and waving their arms in the air and trying so hard to make me laugh and then I looked over at my Valerie Lamb (my other best bud) and she was crossing her eyes and sticking her tongue out and it made me realize how much i LOVE the people here. I fit right in and i know we were all joking around in the pre-mortal life and couldn't wait to meet up again over here. I know i've said it like a thousand times, but Pontefract has my heart. I am SO lucky to be here. And i'm excited for this next week. love you all!

Ronald McDonald

You guys are never gonna guess what happened this week.

So we had a lesson with Ron and we went over his BOM reading and stuff and remember how we had him pick a baptismal date? Well he picked one for THIS MONTH. RON IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS MONTH. He was actually asking us who would be there and which family members of his would be there and if it could be on a Tuesday instead of a Saturday and i was trying so hard not to smile like an idiot because i was just SO HAPPY. i solely believe that i was sent to pontefract to teach Ron and i am so grateful for the chance that i go to. THE CHURCH IS TRUE because Ron says it is. Thank you so much for the prayers, every little thing helped. :)

Also, Sunday was a pretty crazy day for us because we kind of ran church. I had to lead the music in sacrament meeting, and then we got asked to teach gospel principles class, and then we taught sharing time in Primary! Honestly if that ward didn't have missionaries i don't know what they'd do.

yesterday we were knocking and knocked on this spiritualists door and she let us in and gave us each a ceran stone to keep in our bags so we will always have money and then she healed us. i have now been healed by a spiritualist and my life is complete. It was a really weird feeling. And then she had us sit down and have a meditation session and talk to the deceased but don't worry, it didn't work. She was a super nice lady though!

And then last night our whole flat shook like an earthquake a couple times and we thought we were going to die on the Lord's errand (not even kidding) but we are safe. We still don't know what it was but hopefully we'll find out today.

Well that's it! I hope you all have a great week!
