Let's just start out with probably the most unexpected thing to have ever happened to me this week.

So on Sunday, we're sitting in sacrament meeting and listening to this guy give a talk and then Sister Robertson leans over to me and says, "Look at all the people standing outside" and so I turn my head to see who's outside the chapel doors when all the sudden they open and I see this lady and I'm like "she looks so familiar" and then it clicks and I realize THATS HAILEY DEVINE. And so she walks in and right behind her IS BRAD DEVINE and they have their two daughters with them, Lucy and Greta. I was freaking out. I grabbed Sister Robertson's arm and was telling her who they were and that they're instagram famous and then I turn and see one of the cute members Jerolee and she looked at me and I knew that she knew and we were trying to keep our fangirling to a minimum because sacrament meeting was still going on. Anyways, right after the closing prayer I went and introduced myself and they came because they're childhood friends with a cute member family in our ward and we're visiting them while they're here traveling in England. I basically used the excuse that Paula went to Thailand with them and we were friends and I lived in Draper and then slightly mentioned I've followed her on instagram for like years. Sister Robertson said I played it pretty cool 😎 hahah. They were sooo nice and wished me luck for the rest of my mission. How bout I live like 20 minutes away from them in Utah but had to go on a mission to England to finally meet them. Worth it!

Anyways on a more spiritual note, this week in my BOM reading I got to the chapter of Alma 26 and when I got to verse 2 I realized how easily I could apply this to my life right now. I'll show you:

"How great reason have we to rejoice; for could we have supposed when we started from the land of Pontefract that God would have granted unto us such great blessings?

Behold, thousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God. Behold, the field was ripe, and blessed are ye, for ye did thrust in the sickle, and did reap with your might, yea, all the day long did ye labor; and behold the number of your sheaves!

For if we had not come up out of the land of Utah, these our dearly beloved brethren, who have so dearly beloved us, would still have been racked with hatred against us, yea, and they would also have been strangers to God.

Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I was weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I could do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which I will praise his name forever.

Behold, how many thousands of our brethren are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of His word which is in us. Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.

Now when our hearts were depressed, and I was about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted me, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the English, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.

And now behold, we have come, and been forth amongst them; and we have been patient in our sufferings, and we have suffered every privation; yea, we have traveled from house to house, relying upon the mercies of God.

And we have entered into their houses and taught them, and we have taught them in their streets; yea, and we have taught them upon their hills; and we have also entered into their public places and their Universities and taught them; and we have been cast out, and mocked, and ridiculed; and through the power and wisdom of God we have been delivered again.

And all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.

Now behold, I can look back and see the fruits of our labors; and are they few? I say unto you, Nay, they are many.

Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my lightmy joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo.

Blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of this people, who have been lost; yea, blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land.

Now, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen. 💛

I guess an example of how the scriptures can apply to our lives, even now. This work truly is my life and my light, it is my joy. Every day is a good day! Love you all.
